Experiência negativa: it's not worth 50 euros at all! very overpriced. the water walk lasted about an hour, one simple grotto, the instructor was boring. bad organization, no service. disappointed! do not recommend!

Experiência fantástica: Didn't stay in the lodge but did kite surfing for 4 hours along with my twin who was going for his first time. Had a sound English lad called Ian who was a great instructor, pure chilled out and great at explaining things and making sense. Other instructors were ask sound too and a great laugh. All the students equally awesome and good craic :) will definitely be back again!! Thanks for having us ✌

Experiência fantástica: The Ocean Spirits Lodge is one of my favorite places in the world and I go there as often as I can. Friendly staff, cosy house in a beautiful garden, 5min walk to a stunning beach next to a national park. Best place to reconnect mind and body to the Ocean Spirits.

Experiência positiva: At first, they were very responsive on Whatsapp when we were organizing my kitesurf course. Friendly, everything went smoothly. However, now back home, 2 points are disappointing for me : - On their website, the price for 7 hours was € 220 and they made me pay € 240, saying that it wasn't updated. - Initially, I told them that I only had 2 days available to ride and when they suggest me to take the 7 hours course, I thought that they took my availabilities in consideration. However, we did 3 hours each day, so a total of 6 hours. I asked to be refunded the 1 hour left but I only got a message saying that they would bring this matter to their manager and give me a response as soon as possible... I'm still waiting for an answer 11 days later. Dealing with clients everyday through my job, I don't find it very professional. It's not about the price, but the attitude. However, I met very nice people, the vibe was good and the teacher Martin was friendly and gave good advice.

Experiência fantástica: Amongst many other companies offering tours along the Grotto cliffs of Ponta da Piedade, this SUP tour is by far the best. More personal and dedicated than the competition we saw that day. We enjoyed a fantastic time and took home some incredible memories.

Experiência fantástica: We did the morning SUP tour around the grottos. We’ve been doing the kayak tours for years and fancied a change but booked VERY last minute. Kiteschool were great, really communicative and booked us for the next day at 8am. Having only done SUP a couple of times before on calm English lakes, we were in for a bit of a shock. The sea was choppy and I always forget I have occasionally in the past got a bit panicky about falling into deep seawater where fish live. Luckily, our guide, an Italian chap with a giraffe tattoo, was super chilled and good with instructions. The boards were solid, felt stable and took the falls with barely a wobble. We paddled in and out of the grottos and chatted up and down the coast for 2 hours. Husband took to paddle boarding annoyingly like duck to water and only fell off after some serious foul play, whereas it’ll take me a little more practise. We both had a great time though and will be back!

Experiência fantástica: We have spent two really incredible weeks at the lodge. Thanks to big and very welcoming family it is really hard to leave! We went for morning SUP tour discovering caves and beautiful beaches, we were surfing and kiting. It is really easy to progress in kiting thanks to great instructors Laura, Davide, Kirk and Lorenzo. Also laguna spot near oyster farm is magic! Guys, thanks! We’ll be soon back!

Experiência fantástica: This place is really amazing. I had a wonderful stay at the lodge with very nice guests but also with the staff. If there is no wind, they have great possibilities like SUP, Yoga, Surf, Hiking or trainigs like crossfit.

Experiência fantástica: A highlight of our trip to Portugal was this sunrise SUP from Lagos. Our guides and hosts were Tim and Bart and they were knowledgeable and fun guys. Starting out with a lesson for those who need it before long the group is powering along the stunning coast time heading into secret caves and magical grotto’s. Best of all the lads take pictures for you so you don’t need to worry about taking your own. You cannot come to this part of the coast without getting on the water to see it close up. Highly recommend these guys! Outstanding!

Experiência fantástica: Tim took my husband and I out for our first ever experience of SUP. Being December meant the sea was maybe less kind to us but with Tim’s kind and patient teaching we were able to paddle ourselves successfully back to shore standing up!!! We thoroughly enjoyed paddling close up to the magnificent rocks off Praia Dona Ana even navigating ourselves through some of the arches into the lagoon. The service we received was second to none. Tim was punctual, provided great equipment and ensured our safety at all times. We are looking forward to the photographs that Tim took of us. All in all a fun filled morning. Cheers Tim!

Experiência positiva: This is a great place for solo (& flexible) travelers as you meet a lot of other people also in staying there for a longer time period usually. Unfortunately, the weather conditions stopped me from being able to do kite surfing as I’d initially planned to do. I’d recommend you to not pay for the course until you know that the wind will be sufficient. They offer other activities as compensation but these didn’t hold high quality at all. The hostel is small and relaxing. The place is run on a daily basis by a group of young girls who don’t have full capability to answer your questions or provide proper service. Sure, you get what you pay for but for 30€/night I’d have expected a bit higher level of service.

Experiência fantástica: Minha experiência no Ocean Spirits Lodge em abril de 2024 foi maravilhosa! Adorei como tudo é tão orgânico e integrado à natureza - desde as instalações até as aulas de kitesurf. Tudo é feito com simplicidade e amor, o que cria uma atmosfera única e acolhedora. Apesar de algumas chuvas ocasionais, as aulas foram incríveis! Os instrutores são muito habilidosos e dedicados, tornando a aprendizagem do kitesurf uma verdadeira diversão. Mal posso esperar para voltar e aproveitar novamente essa experiência mágica. Muito obrigado por tudo

Experiência fantástica: Ich war auf der Suche nach einer sehr guten Kitesurfschule in Lagos und direkt habe ich eine gefunden. Benny und seine Crew mit Dave, haben mich sehr herzlich aufgenommen. Direkt haben wir uns einen Kitesurfkurs für zwei Tage genommen und die Wetter Bedingungen waren sehr gut, nur der Wind war etwas böig. Ich hatte Dave als Kiteinstructor und wir haben alle Dinge sehr genau, aber mit viel Spaß durchgenommen. Am Ende des Tages war ich schon beim bodydrag was schon sehr weit ist. Benny hat mich immer motiviert und dieses Gefühl ist sehr gut. Beim zweiten Tag war der Wind schwächer, aber auch böig. Wir haben den Kite aufgebaut und ich habe direkt den Up Wind bodydrag gemacht und es ging sehr gut. Als ich nun das Board bekommen habe hat der Wind direkt aufgehört zu wehen was mich traurig gemacht hat doch Benny hat mich immer motiviert. Nun war der Kitesurfkurs zu Ende und Benny hat uns dann angeboten einen Theoriekurs zu machen und dann eine VDWS Lizenz zu erwerben und ein passen Buch. Dies habe ich natürlich gemacht und habe mit Bravour bestanden (77 von 81 Punkten) . Fazit: Die Kitesurfkurs ist hervorragend, nett und bietet sehr viel. Man wird Erfolgserlebnisse erleben und viel Spaß haben. Danke an Benny, Dave und die ganze Crew ihr habt mir sehr viel beigebracht.

Experiência fantástica: Wir haben eine SUP Tour mit Benny zur Ponte da Piedade gemacht, die Einführung war gut auch für totale Beginner. Das Material ist super in Schuss und auf der Tour bekommt man einen Blick auf viele Höhlen und Grotten, die man sonst nie gesehen hätte. Cool war, das wir dank dem Guide auch unter kleinen Felsbrücken durch gepaddelt sind, die wir sonst vermutlich gemieden hätten. Die Stimmung war super und wir hatten eine menge Spaß!

Experiência fantástica: Freunde des Wassersports, was auch immer ihr sucht, ob Kitesurfen, SUP, Wellenreiten, oder Yoga hier findet ihr alles in bester Form. Ob Benny, der Chef, Dave, Sebastian oder Phil, alle sind mehrsprachig, äußerst sicher und geduldig im Lehren der verschiedenen Disziplinen. Benny ist sehr freundlich, aber durchaus bestimmt wenn es um die Sicherheit der Schülerinnen und Schüler geht. Ob in der Theorie oder der Praxis, immer wird auf höchste Professionalität wertgelegt. Selbst wenn beste Bedingungen für die Teacher herrschen, liegt das ganze Augenmerk bei den Schülern. Jeder, der mal auf 'nem Board gestanden hat, kann Ermessen, was für eine Entbehrungen das für​ die Jungs bedeutet. Aber geduldig und professionell lässt sich das Ocean Spirit Team sich nicht's davon anmerken. Hut ab!!! Es wird nur mit neustem und bestem Material von Noth gearbeitet. Wenn ihr das Komplettpaket mit Unterkunft bucht, kommt ihr mit Gleichgesinnten coolen Leuten aller Altersklassen in Kontakt. Im Schulungsgebiet , der Lagune vor Alvor, ist ein gutes Stehrevier, welches auf Grund der Gezeiten zu einem tollen Revier für Könner wird. Jeder der ein Zertifikat vom VDWS hat, kann bei Ocean Spirit Equipment ausleihen. Jetzt zuletzt zu den Kosten. Ich kann nur sagen, der schnöde Manon steht nicht in Vordergrund!!! Die Preise der Aktivitäten sind mehr als fair! Fazit, für jeden der plant Kitesurfen zu lernen​, sollte der erste Weg zu Ocean Spirit führen!!!

Experiência fantástica: Ich kann die Kite Schule nur wärmstens weiterempfehlen. Habe 2 Wochen dort verbracht und es hat an nichts gefehlt. Top Leute, Lehrer, Marterial und Stimmung. Mein Kite Zertifikat konnte ich machen und sonnigen Theorie Unterricht besuchen ;)

Experiência fantástica: We did the SUP-Grottoes-Tour with Davide and it was amazing. The guides know how to show how to SUP and know every bit of the Grottoes so it was lots of fun. Davide is super funny and still very professional, highly recommend doing the SUP with him. Also got Photos and Videos at the end. So definately 5 Stars. Muito obrigado

Experiência negativa: Très déçu de l’expérience de KiteSurf avec Kiteschool Portugal. J’étais censé faire 3h de KiteSurf finalement nous avons été dans l’eau avec les kites beaucoup moins de temps que prévu avec seulement 1 kite pour 2 personnes et un professeur refusant de mettre plus de puissance dans le kite pour faciliter la navigation. Grosse frustration. Après un autre essai dans une autre école les jours suivants, j’ai pu constater la nette différence dans le service et à un meilleur tarif.

Experiência fantástica: Ponta da Piedade is a truly magical place. I think that an early-morning SUP tour is the best way to know this little paradise. Highly recommended! Don't forget your sunscreen and a hat ;)

Experiência fantástica: I did SUP with my family and we had such a great time, it was fun and the landscape was stunning!! Our instructor G was the best explaining us about the history of the región and taking pictures. Would do it again if I could!!

Experiência fantástica: Fantastic friendly lodge with relaxed atmosphere and super friendly, helpful staff. Nothing is too much to ask. We loved it so much there we stayed an extra couple of days instead of traveling on. Extra perk is Ozzie the house cat - he's adorable! Thank you everyone at Ocean Spirits for a great holiday!

Experiência negativa: The SUP company is the worst. They don't deserve 1 star. I booked a 3 hour standup paddleboard experience for 3 other experienced paddlers & myself. They showed up 30 minutes late. They expected us to hand pump the 2 inflatable boards they had, their paddled would not only not adjust because they were so old, 2 were also missing handles. An hour later they still didn't have a 4th paddle with a handle and it was going to be dark in 2 hours. Their answer to this was that we could paddle in the dark on an unfamiliar ocean. We didn't go. I would not recommend this to anyone.

Experiência negativa: die anmeldung klappte reibungslos und sehr spontan. das material ist aus meiner sicht erstklassig. auch die lagune, von der schule mit shuttlebus in 30min. zu erreichen ist grandios. als anfänger buchte ich den 10-stundenkurs, da mir auf der homepage ein richtiges kiteerlebnis versprochen wurde. leider wurde ich enttäuscht. nach dem dritten tag und dem wiederholten bodydrag (bei drei verschiedenen instruktoren) war meine zeit aufgebraucht. als ich beny mit den versprechungen der homepage konfrontierte, bedankte er sich artig für das feedback und meinte, das sei halt individuell, einige seien schneller als andere. von den anfänger in dieser woche stand aber niemand am dritten tag auf dem brett. als praktizierender sportlehrer denke ich nicht, dass es an meinen koordinativen fähigkeiten gelegen hat. ich müsse halt den 15-stundenkurs buchen wenn ich richtig keiten lernen will, so beny weiter. das ganze war ein grosser frust für mich, ich wollte doch nur das feeling des kiten erleben mein tipp: auf die inhalte bereits während dem unterricht beharren/ 15-stundenkurs buchen/ eine andere schule wählen.

Experiência fantástica: Great school with awesome atmosphere. Kitesurfing instructors are really cool with good approach to teaching. The Ocean Spirits Lodge is one of the most chilled out places I've ever stayed. Oh and a SUP tour- SUPer entertaining!

Experiência fantástica: Kite School Portugal is a great place to learn how to kite and I had an amazing time at the Alvor Lagoon next to Lagos. Benny, the kite instructor, explained me everything very well step by step. He is very friendly and also safety is very important for him. He always kept an eye on me while I was practicing. In the end it took me only three days to make the water start and kite a few meters in both directions. That was awesome and I'm already addicted to that fun sport! Also the Alvor kite spot is amazing. It's a Lagoon where you'll have knee deep water which is great for learning kiteboarding. It's really worth to go there also in winter. I was at the Kite School Portugal in off season, beginning of February. We had a beautiful warm day with sunshine all day long. Beside of your small group there were only three other guys far away on the other side of the Lagoon. So we hat the kite spot for our self! :) Tank's a lot! I'll definitely come back!

I did the kite lessons with benny a nice down to earth guy with a lot of experience and patience, a great teacher and good friend… the SUP tours also are amazing, great secenery and fantastic environment and breathtaking views of the cost line..thanks hope to see you guys soon on the water!
