Experiência fantástica: Welcoming and well-run club situated along with a yoga and wellness facility in central Cascais. The coach (Jochem) structured the session I attended really well and everyone trained with everyone despite a range of ages and sizes, due to the clear and inclusive directions and guidance throughout. The receptionist, coach and most members spoke Portuguese and English, widening the scope for locals and visitors or tourists. The club does both gi and no-gi classes and open mats and is very friendly to drop-ins and visitors. The mat space is light, modern and spotlessly clean. The atmosphere was superb and I would recommend and return.

Experiência fantástica: I had the pleasure of visiting 5 Elements Jiu Jitsu Cascais during a short work trip to Portugal, and I must say, this gym exceeded all my expectations. As someone who trains regularly in Ireland, I was thrilled to find a place that felt like a second home on the mats. First off, the amenities are top-notch. The gym is impeccably clean and tidy, and you can tell that great care goes into maintaining the space. The mat is absolutely incredible – spacious, comfortable, and perfect for training at any level. The staff and coaches were extremely welcoming from the moment I walked in. The receptionist greeted me warmly, making the process of dropping in seamless. The coaches, Carlos Pinhal and Jochem Meynfeld, are outstanding. I particularly want to emphasize Coach Carlos Pinhal, who displayed an impressive level of skill, experience, and passion for teaching Jiu Jitsu. His ability to break down techniques, whether for self-defense or sportive purposes, is truly remarkable, and he creates an engaging and encouraging environment for students. Although I was only in Cascais for a few days, the experience at 5 Elements left a lasting impression. I highly recommend this gym to anyone, whether you’re local or just passing through like I was. It’s not just a place to train – it’s a community of passionate and skilled practitioners, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of it, even briefly.

Experiência fantástica: Great environment, unbelievably good teachers. The place is beyond my expectations, clean, fun, modern and an amazing location. This is not just training, you have a spiritual experience.Very good accessibility, and you can go to the beach right after training. All Dojo's should aspire to be like this one. Also of note they have more options beyond martial arts. Worth a visit every single time.

Experiência fantástica: A good place to know and very recommended to enjoy Jiu-Jitsu located in Cascais. Easy to park close to. Good mat with nice and good people there to drill and roll. Thanks to Jochem the profesor for the welcoming and treatment. He's a good and nice guy with a good jiu jitsu. If you have any question about schedules or prices, Natalia will help you with everything. Friendly ambient. Highly recommend anybody visiting Cascais looking to train in a nice place.

Experiência fantástica: I dropped into to a Thursday class with Carlos as the professor. Class was on time, good warm up, good explanation of techniques. It was a class full of guys but the ambient was very welcoming and very warm so I felt very comfortable. The place is very modern and pretty, really clean change rooms. Receptionist was very nice also! Thanks guys, will definitely come back next time!

Experiência fantástica: Excellent Jiu-Jitsu gym located in Cascais centre. Jochem the owner / head coach here is an amazing guy. Super friendly and welcoming to everybody. The mat space is very clean and well kept along with it being on spring boards so absorbs impact very well. I would highly recommend anybody visiting Cascais looking to train to get in touch with him and get some training in. He is also very knowledgable of the area and guided us in locations to surf afterwards. Will be returning again!
