Experiência fantástica: The perfect place to do sport and relax close to the ocean. I have found a family environment thanks to great staff and trainers that made my time there special. From surfing to yoga my days have been great in this lodge at walking distance from the beach. Highly reccomended! Atividades próximas: I have done everyday surf and yoga with great instructors. But there is also the possibility to do CrossFit, gym (indoor and outdoor), play tennis and enjoy the swimming pool.

Experiência fantástica: I recently stayed at Shark's lodge in Portugal, and it was an amazing experience! The location is perfect, offering a stunning backdrop to enjoy both sports and relaxation. The lodge is situated in a peaceful area, providing the ideal environment to unwind after a day full of activities. The accommodations were comfortable and quiet. There is a wide range of activities to choose from: crossfit, skate, yoga, tenis or paddle. The instructors were friendly and professional, offering expert guidance and support in both surfing and yoga. I was starting from zero surfing, their passion created a welcoming atmosphere, making it easy for everyone to feel good regardless of their experience level. The staff was also very helpful in recommending great local restaurants to try, though you will need to take an Uber to reach them. I highly recommend this surf and yoga camp to anyone looking to combine fitness, relaxation, and adventure. I will definitely come back!

Experiência fantástica: Our whole family ( teenage kids) felt very welcome from the first day. The staff was friendly, helpfull, warmhearted and uncomplicated. Perfect place when you really want to surf and improve your skills. The surfinstructors are excellent, experienced and give a lot of feedback. You can try different boards and surfspots. There are always waves nearby, just grab a board and walk to the next beach in 5 min. We also joined the very nice outside Yogaclasses, you can joyn even if you never tried before, the Yogateachers will support you. The Surf Skate was really fun. There was even a special mobility and handstand class for us. Inbetween we played tennis, relaxed at the pool and met some nice people from different countries. Sharks lodge is a nice and quiet place. We easiliy went by uber to the reastaurants and other beaches. We stayed for two weeks and never got bored ( not even the kids :-)). We highly recommend Sharks lodge and will definitely come back!

Experiência negativa: *EDIT* After leaving this review, we were promised a full refund, however weeks later we still haven't heard from the owner after his initial promise of a refund. We had a really disappointing stay at Sharks Lodge. Things weren’t as advertised… We’d booked the CrossFit, surf, yoga and extra activities package. The surf lessons were enjoyable, but the instructor wasn’t engaged and didn’t give any advice on how we could improve at all during our lessons. We were lucky to know how to surf already, I’m not sure how it would be for a beginner. The CrossFit is what we were looking forward to the most, but on our first session it became clear that the instructor had never done CrossFit before. He had taken a lesson plan from the internet and proceeded to ask us what the movements were, so we ended up having to take charge. The following day we did our own session instead, and we even had to change our plans to fit his (very limited) schedule. We didn’t do a single extra activity during our stay because there weren’t any qualified instructors to run the activities. What was most disappointing was the lack of facilities at the lodge, which had been advertised online. The tennis courts were out of action, the restaurant wasn’t open, there was no BBQ, we had no hot water until our last day. Due to this, we had to take an uber each time we wanted to eat, which we weren’t expecting so hadn’t budgeted for. The only reason we haven’t given one star is because Tanya, the yoga instructor, was great. The yoga lessons were well planned and very relaxing. Paolo (the owner) was away when we stayed and a friend of his came on our second stay to help out, and when he understood the situation he did his best to rectify things. Unfortunately it was the day before we left. We did end up getting a €100 refund to “downgrade” our package due to the lack of CrossFit and extra activities, but along with all the other issues this didn’t feel like it made up for our poor experience. Had we known it would just be surf & yoga, we would have booked elsewhere.

Experiência fantástica: Superb experience, surf camp to recommend without hesitation. The entire shark lodge team is motivated, always smiling, transmits good energy and takes great care. Surfing, yoga, crossfit, tennis, doing nothing, there is something for all tastes and all levels (surfing from beginner to advanced). With a special mention to Paulo for the badass surf sessions he took us to and to Tanya for the charming welcome and the physical but also relaxing post-surf Yoga sessions.

Experiência fantástica: Jeśli lubisz surfing, a jeśli nie wiedz czy lubisz to w tym miejscu sprawią, że to pokochasz. Mili ludzie, zawsze chętnie we wszystkim pomogą. Codzienny crossfit nie jest łatwy, ale w miłym towarzystwie, ładnym otoczeniu i super trenerką jest extra. Trenerzy surfingu dbają, żeby każdy poczuł się dobrze w oceanie, dają wskazówki jak oceniać warunki na wodzie i pomagają czynić postępy w surfowaniu. Czyste pokoje, fajny basen i dobra przestrzeń do wspólnego użytku. Spędziłam tu super tydzień, jeszcze nie dojechałam do domu, a już bym chciała tam wrócić. ❤️

Experiência positiva: The Skark’s Lodge is an excellent choice for wonderful holidays for families with children, pairs, and singles and lovers of peace and nature who may find whatever they are longing for: a quit ambience, relax, a clean comfortable room in a quite location from which you will be able to move to the beach or to the city center. The parking at hostel is for free. The beach is around 10 minutes by walk and city centre ca. 15 minutes away by bike. The host Paulo provided all we needed for a great time in Peniche from surf lessons to bikes rentals giving us a great opportunity for having nice holidays. Paulo and his staff are great people, who are always smiling, friendly, and helpful with tips and good recommendations. Each morning they prepared breakfast for all guests and then we went with trainers to the beach for surfing lessons. Paulo and his team are very good skilled and experienced surfers who know all about surfing and ocean waves. You can ask them for tips on the best waves and surfng technics. The evening when Paulo cooked for all the guests was wonderful and his absolute excellent gamba fish soup has stolen our hearts!  The hostel is placed very close to the beach, so we could walk at dawn just before sunrise for watching the rising Sun! Here is a really good spirit for sharks who need some comfortable place for relax after surfing on wild waves. :) I can higly recommend the Shark’s Lodge to everyone and I will definitely come back there as soon as possible!  Kate The Skark’s Lodge to bardzo dobry wybór na wspaniały urlop dla każdego, rodzin z dziećmi, par, czy singli i wielbicieli natury czy aktywności sportowej, którzy znajdą tu wszystko, czego potrzeba dla dobrego odpoczynku spokój, relax, czyste i wygodne pokoje, w spokojnej i cichej lokalizacji blisko plaży i w niewielkiej odległości od centrum miasta. Raj dla surferów i miłośników spacerów. Plaża - w odległości 10 minut spacerem a centrum miasta ok. 15 minut rowerem. Świetny wypoczynek z nieograniczoną aktywnością – od surfingu po możliwość wypożyczenia rowerów na przejażdżki po całej okolicy od centrum Peniche po Baleal i jak daleko się dało. Na przyjemnym tarasie przy basenach mogliśmy spędzać miło czas aż do nocy. Bezpłatny parking pod hostelem. Paulo i jego zespół to przemili i zawsze uśmiechnięci ludzie, pomocni i z dobrą radą. Codziennie rano przygotowywali dla wszystkich gości śniadanie a potem zabierali nas nad ocean na lekcje surfingu. Paulo i jego przyjaciele to bradzo dobrzy, doświadczeni surferzy, którzy o surfingu, plażach Peniche i falach wiedzą wszystko. Zawsze z chęcią udzielą rady.. A wieczór powitalny, gdy Paulo ugotowal dla wszystkich gości zupę rybną z krewetkami był fantastyczny i tą zupą skradł nam serca do reszty!  Hotel jest połozony blisko plaży, więc czasem zrywaliśmy się skoro świt, by przywitac wschodzące Słońce. Panuje tu dobry i swobodny klimat. To idealne miejsce na odpoczynek dla rekinów zmęczonych po całym dniu zmagania z falami. :) Serdecznie polecam Shark’s Lodge! Experiência fantástica: I had an amazing time at Shark's Lodge especially due to my lovely sharks Severine, Paulo and Mimi making me feel at home right away! The lodge itself is also fantastic and very close to the beach - so if you enjoy surfing and/or cross fit you will love it there, for sure!

Experiência fantástica: My favorite lodge in Europe!! Super friendly staff, amazing host! Great surfing instructors and fun activities. We had a wonderful time there, almost everyday we managed todo something new and exciting, surfing, snorkeling, climbing and all. And when we didn’t manage to book a taxi to the city, staff were helpful and gave us a ride few times, they also helped my partner to organize a surprise birthday for me. Not to forget the yoga and the cross-fit. Overall 10/10!!

Experiência fantástica: I had an amazing time at Shark's Lodge especially due to the best-in-class stuff (I guess I don’t have enough space to mention all of them but Paulo and Tess making me feel like home since the 1st second, Mimi cooking and smiling for us with that energy every single day ✨ Antonio with the best surf tips, attitude and patience… The location itself is just perfect, close to the beach you can basically walk with your surfboard. So… Long story short, I met amazing human beings there, perfect service, and so much fun between surf, yoga and local plans, so I would definitely recommend it 100%! And yeah I’m already planning come back soon ❤️ THANKS SHARK FAM!

Experiência fantástica: No Sharks temos todo acompanhamento para iniciar o surf, a técnica e poder evoluir. O ambiente é relaxante, tem a piscina, o CrossFit, o yoga e várias atividades diárias. O staff é muito simpático.

Experiência negativa: The PROs: + nice guests and staff - we made new friends + surf beach across the street with consistent waves + comfortable beds + we could book spontaneously The CONs: - does not look as good as on the pictures - it was built cheap & simple, no attention to detail, not cosy - no real CrossFit classes - the owner assumes that everybody goes surfing so he does not want people to waste their energy - no proper surf instructions during surfing especially for beginners - the owner is there but only gives very little tipps - remote location, next supermarket is 30 min to walk in Baleal, most of the restaurants and bars are in Baleal or in Peniche - the owner (Paulo) has a good heart but he does not really cater to the peoples' needs, no service mentality, his humor is sometimes inappropriate - no communication, times of surf lessons change without informing everyone - we as guests had to initiate a WhatsApp group e.g. the owner prepared dinner but half of the guests did not know about it - they only serve breakfast but no other food because they can't find a cook - but there is no kitchen, only one fridge and no washing machine ALL IN ALL: not a good value for money!

Experiência fantástica: Staying in sharks is a perfect experience. The Surf instructors are great Coaches, Praia baia and superturbos is super close by walking. The breakfast is done with Love and during that you can connect with other people from all over the world easily. Especially the Manager Pãulo is doing a great job by beeing around all the time, giving all his energy for his guests and high quality activities. Besides that he cooks amazing diner, too.

Experiência fantástica: Bon travail, rien à dire à part que vous encourager à y aller pour découvrir ce joli coin surtout; l'accueil charmant. Je suis enchantée par touts les détails. Chaque année j'y manque jamais! Merci à toute l'équipe "Shark's Logde" Quartos: Tip-top ; propre, surtout ce coté "art" j'adore. Calme, tu dors toute la nuit sans être reveiller par quoi ce soit. Atividades próximas: Que tu aime le sport où pas, il y a toujours un activité qui vonvier ton désir. Surfer, proménade au bord de la mer en famille, en amoureux ou seul... même juste prendre un verre, ton Cockeil tranquille au bord de la me c' est très réposant, le vent de la mer c est juste waouuu.... Segurança: Tout est au controle, même si ton enfant est gravament malade, il trouve le moyen de t'apporte un grand aide jour et nuit! Acessibilidade a pé: Sans problème depuis l'hotel jusqu'à la mer! Alimentos e bebidas: Alimantation saine! Detalhes relevantes: Toute la journée, il s'occupe de ces clients! Il y a toujours un entreneur pour les exercises ou le sport, soit à l'hotel soit à l’extérieur,... .Chacun trouve sa place; enfants, ados, adultes, séniors.

Experiência fantástica: Ideal place for singles, couples, family with kids over 7 years old! Amazing and friendly staff, delicious food, spacious rooms! A lot of possitive energy and fun! Perfect place for people who love active life style - bikes, tennis, swimming, climbing, skateboards, yoga, crossfit , surf. Instructors are soul surfers and very good teachers - after few days my kids start to surf really good! I highly recommend this place! We will come back for sure!

Experiência positiva: Le doy tres estrellas porque a pesar de que estuvimos muy bien con los niños, con la habitación a pie de la piscina, creo que le falta bastante para estar a la altura de otros alojamientos. En una semana nos cambiaron una toalla (la del suelo) y no nos cambiaron las sábanas. Creo que la habitación estaba en fase de construcción, sin armario ropero (tuvimos que pedir uno...) El desayuno, con paciencia, es simple pero está bien. Digo paciencia porque no se pueden reponer lonchas de fiambre o queso de 5 en 5 unidades. Lo mejor es su ubicación, la tranquilidad y que tiene piscina (para adultos y niños, con sus tumbonas) y un bar al lado de muy cómodo. Una vez adaptados estuvimos cómodos, aunque tiene cosas que mejorar.

Experiência fantástica: We stayed at the wonderful Shark's Lodge for 10 nights in November. The weather was great and the area is so quiet we had the Lodge to ourselves, so basically private surf lessons! November appears to be the favorite time to surf for our instructors as you avoid massive crowds. In summer, the entire beach is apparently lined with cars making it hard to park on the beach. This is where I see the location of the lodge to be the best in the area. A short 5 min walk and you are on the beach, perfect! The Lodge has had renovations completed just before Covid and everything looks great and is of high quality. The breakfast has a great variety for a Surf lodge and often they will make you some cooked eggs or sausages and coffee. Sunday has pastel de nadas! For the surrounding towns, they aren't too far to walk along the beach or a 4 euro Uber can take you. Lots of food can be delivered from Sushi to Indian to Burgen King and some restaurants are well within walking distance. The surf instruction was great and everyone working in the lodge was lovely. Everyone speaks perfect English. A fantastic experience all round! If you are looking for a friendly surf camp close to the beach with a pool to relax in after a long day, I highly recommend Shark's Lodge.

Experiência fantástica: We stayed here for 5 amazing days for surfing and yoga! The place is in walking distance to beaches for every surf conditions, and after surf you can spend your time around the chill pool area. Yoga felt like the perfect match to surfing and should not be missed. All the staff is truly warm and genuin and if you want an experienced teacher, Paulo definitely is your guy! Easily 5 stars to Paulo, Sev and their team! Even André, the bartender, was a head of his game! Breakfast is probably basic but should cover all your needs and more - It’s a surf camp. The rooms for sharing are good sized and clean. Its lacking AC, but even mid august temperatures drops to decent level at night(~18celcius). No AC worked perfectly for two Norwegians. Still easily 5 stars!

Experiência fantástica: I had a fantastic time at Sharks Lodge for 10 days! Paulo and Antonio, surf instructors like out of a picture book, taught everyone how to surf patiently and with a lot of fun. In addition, we went climbing on the cliffs, kayaking and not to forget the pleasant yoga classes with Carlos. Even travelling alone, you quickly made connections with the other guests from all over the world through the activities. The special highlight were the Portuguese dishes that Paulo cooked for everyone in between. The rooms are very nice, the walk to the beach about 7 minutes. Thank you for the exciting and great time I had with you!

Séverine et Paulo sont très accueillants. Ils vous font vous sentir chez vous dès votre arrivée et durant tout le séjour. Propreté, confort des installations, activités proposées, tout est impeccable. Une magnifique expérience à vivre absolument !

Personale molto simpatico ed accogliente,ci hanno spiegato subito tutto quello che volevamo sapere in un ottimo inglese. Abbiamo dormito nei dorms "dormitori comuni" ce n'è uno solo maschile,uno solo femminile ed uno misto. Ci sono armadietti per le cose di valore e docce e bagni in comune. Abbiamo fatto una lesione di sruf che ci è piaciuta molto,gli istruttori pazienti e disponibili ci hanno spiegato passo passo quello che andava fatto. Ci siamo davvero divertiti!!
