Also, easy communication and got refunded, no questions asked, when I had to drop out of my 5 day course early due to injury. Recommend 100%!

Experiência fantástica: What an amazing place! I am on my way back to Faro Airport and just stayed for (just) 1 week at Aldo and Sarah's surf lodge. What a great place to be!! It feels as if you are invited to a friends home. All rooms, (shared) bathrooms and other public areas are very clean and kept up by the owners and the volunteers working, and surfing, there. All the arranged meals are delicious. The surf classes are reallu for every level. I never surfed before and the instructors gave such great time amd effort in teaching me. I was up and riding white waves by day 3 (not all of them of course but some!). You are never in a massive group, so loads of personal attention and everyone likes to have a laugh as well, so it is just great fun. I will be back next year!

Experiência fantástica: These guys are great hosts! Their property is equip with either bunk style or private rooms. The multiple bathrooms and showers make the stay very comfortable. Nice mattresses and even optional yoga to help you stretch out! (Lovely instructor) Nice family style meals for a good portion of the week. They have a wonderful photographer to catch you in style Sarah and Aldo run the lodge and surf camp and are amazing hosts. Very kind and good business owners :) I would love to visit again 5/5 Stars.

Experiência fantástica: Absolute tolle und coole Surflehrer mit viel Spaß, Humor, Geduld und guter Erklärung. Es hat mir sehr viel Spaß gemacht. Ich komme gerne wieder. Zu der Unterkunft kann ich nichts sagen, was ich von den anderen gehört habe, ist es aber toll und alle hatten zu Mittag gute Verpflegung dabei.

Experiência fantástica: I stayed for a week in September and, even though I had previously taken surf lessons with Aldo’s surf school, my stay exceeded all expectations. As a solo traveller, I appreciate that Sarah, Aldo and the team were immediately so warm and welcoming. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and lots of surfing (more hours in the water than most other places) with no worries about the logistics as the team seamlessly coordinates rentals, transport and (delicious) food makes for a fantastic and relaxing active vacation! A home away from home, I will certainly be back!

Experiência fantástica: Wir hatten eine wunderbare Zeit in der Arrifana Surf Lodge! Sarah und Aldo sind tolle Gastgeber, bei denen man spürt, dass sie lieben was sie machen. Sie geben einem direkt das Gefühl ein Teil der Gruppe zu sein und durch die gemeinsamen Abendessen kommt man schnell in Kontakt miteinander. Die Surfeinheiten sind intensiv aber machen total viel Spaß. Die Surf Instructor waren sehr kompetent, super geduldig und haben uns immer wieder mit ihrer herzlichen und witzigen Art motiviert. Man hat sich zu jeder Zeit sicher und wohl gefühlt! Wir haben ganz viel gelernt und freuen uns jetzt schon auf den nächsten Surf-Urlaub. Experiência fantástica: Since you’re here you’re probably doing a research about surf schools in Arrifana. In short that’s the one you should choose - but that’s probably still not enough for you. So it comes down to the instructors and I think they are great - surf veterans who know their craft and are good with people. The few I met I give special recognition: the big boss Aldo of infinite optimism and passion, whether he’s in the water or watches you from the land you can’t hide from him to be given advice:) Spaniard surf Sensei Ibon - full of dedication to the sport and the classes, gives support for whatever wave comes at you, zero bullshit, to fully unlock his abilities you also need to show dedication and will to improve:) The part of staying at the lodge turned out to be very cool. this part of surfing school I did for the first time. I spent a week in the lodge and in general felt very good there. Chill vibes, everyone goes around in their own pace throughout the rest of the day. Fun group dinners with delicious food. Rented car though helps a lot in exploring neighborhoods or just with hunting sunsets. There are still few good restaurants and bars nearby just in case. Also not very well known fact - they’ve been operating for 17 years! that speaks for itself! Good job Sarah and Aldo!

Wir hatten eine sehr schöne Zeit dort und das Surfen hat besonders viel Spaß gemacht. Die Surflehrer waren super cool und haben uns immer sehr motiviert. Wir kommen aufjedenfall wieder!

Experiência fantástica: I was travelling alone, I stayed at Arrifana Surf Lodge in July for one week, and it definitely exceeded my expectations. I had a fantastic time at the camp, the room and the camp were super clean. Aldo and Sarah created a really chill and friendly environment in the house, Sarah's kitchen was spectacular, I really appreciate the effort that they put to make the people to have a fantastic journey. The surf lessons were super fun and helped me to improve really fast. In the camp I met many new friends and despite I stayed there for only one week I felt part of the family from the first day, Aldo's Lodge will always remain part of my best memories.

Experiência fantástica: Our family had a very good experience on a half-day class (no lodging). Instructors were very kind. Ours was also very patient with us as beginners and gave good instruction. Had a little trouble finding them at the beach as there are several groups there and another with a similar name. In the end, they were right where they said they would be, we just got there before they arrived. Overall, great time and had great equipment!

Experiência fantástica: My mates and I booked a surf session with Arrifana Surf Lodge and went with Aldo himself! Both Sarah and Aldo was patient, helpful and down-to-earth. We had a good time in the waves and the whole session was pleasant! Pity that we only had time for one session, but it was great nonetheless. I'll definitely recommend them to other surfers! :)

Experiência fantástica: I couldn’t recommend this surf lodge more! II booked the surf and yoga package and as it was my first time surfing I was a bit nervous. But the surf coaches were very professional and helpful so I could improve and felt very safe in the water. The lodge really felt like a second home. There was everything you need and more. The house was very clean and the food was amazing - from the breakfast with changing breakfast specials to the lunch buffet to the dinners. The barbecue was probably the best I have ever had and also the curry night and the restaurant visits were very nice. I really enjoyed the yoga sessions and the massage, too. A big thank you and huggs to Sarah, Aldo and the rest of the team who made this experience so special. I will definitely come again.

Experiência fantástica: Well what an incredible week. Came to Arrifana for the first time this year and we had an absolutely awesome time. The vibe at the lodge is just perfect. Everyone is so friendly and chilled and you are treated to delicious, nourishing food every day. The rooms are simple and comfy and super clean. The chilling/yoga area is lovely and we loved the addition of a table tennis table! Sarah and Aldo have got the formula absolutely nailed. We loved the little details down to the packed lunches you take to the beach and the group meals in the evening, where you can get to know them and the volunteers as well. The surf instruction was utterly brilliant too. Aldo is so enthusiastic and knowledgeable and Ibon was a legend, who gave perfect, individualised feedback - he seemed to really care about your experience! I felt like I progressed more in this week than I have in years of surfing - all thanks to them :) Already planning my next trip :)

Experiência fantástica: We’ve just spent 2 weeks surfing in Arrifana (family of 3 with 6 year old) with one to one coaching mainly with Ibon (no 4) and Aldo (2days ) (007 ;-) . Ibon was super pro with his “intermediate”tuition out at the back and I feel he has greatly helped improve our surfing getting into the details of first turns and flat cutbacks on 2m swell days ( waves 1.5-1.8m) . He made us feel safe and was a well known coach by the local crowd and appreciated in the water by his peers . He also coached our 6 yo in the white wash with 20-30 min sessions and our little fella loved it . We’ve surfed in many places with many schools but this is by far the best . Same goes with Aldo of course ! Hats off guys , you take your teaching seriously and help us older dudes enjoy some amazing surf ! We’ll come back without any hesitation . Cheers and keep well. Experiência fantástica: Absolutely loved my stay at Arrifana Surf Lodge!! I came for one week, I ended up staying for two weeks! Lovely chilled place that attracts great people. Real family vibes, enough people to chat and hang out with but not too crowded. Felt like a home away from home. Rooms, food, staff - all wonderful! Yoga and massage were great as well! As a first time surfer I was a bit nervous, but that changed within hours. Great instructors who were super supportive and really wanted us to learn and have a good time. Always felt safe and in good hands. An experience of a lifetime. I will definitely be back.

Adam the lodge host was a brilliant entertainer, he made us feel at home from the first moment we meet him. Ibon, Lorenzo and Aldo were a patient and excellent surf instructors and were keen for us to all progress. I can’t believe David & I managed to surf a green wave - not bad for a pair in their 50’s. Daisy & Poppy found the surf fun and were pushed out of their comfort zones. Simona the yoga teacher was lovely, would definitely recommend the yoga when surf to stretch those achy parts. Lauren the masseuse gave the best massage I have ever had (I’ve had lots!) The food was amazing! The curry night & BBQ was delicious and we enjoyed the nights out at the restaurants. What we really loved was the home from home feeling, feeling part of your family and the genuine feeling that you wanted us to have a great holiday. Experiência fantástica: Best week at Arifana Surf Lodge. I did the surf/yoga package and it was an absolute dream. The house is lovely - it really feels like a home away from home, with lots of indoor and outdoor areas to chill, and always beautifully clean. The food was incredible and there was lots of it which is good for hungry surfers. I stayed in the dorm room which was spacious and there were ear plugs available which was a nice and welcome touch! The surf lessons were hands down the best I’ve ever had. All the instructors gave hugely insightful feedback and seem really invested in your surfing and your progress. Aldo knows where the best surf will be and the transfer to the beach / boards / wetsuits process works like a well-oiled machine. And then the yoga with Simone was just beautiful - sometimes a morning energising flow and sometimes a more restorative afternoon practice. It meant that my body felt good all week despite the exertion from the surfing. The group I was with were also wonderful people, lots of them visiting for the second or third or fourth time which in itself is testament to how great this place is. And finally, great value for money. Cannot recommend enough.

The surf coaching was mind blowing! All of us learned SO much! Amazing! The only bad thing was that we only booked 1 instead of 2 weeks! Thank you for having us! Experiência fantástica: Best surf hostel I’ve ever been to! Been coming for years and the experience has always been top notch. They clean the place every day and the food they provide is restaurant level good! The surf classes are awesome, led by passionate and friendly instructors instead of angry shouters. All the guests always seem to get along and the time out of the water is just as great! Definitely recommend!!

Experiência fantástica: Killer Surf & BJJ Camp! I stayed at the Arrifana Surf Lodge for the Surf & BJJ Camp (Nov-2023) Arrifana Surf lodge: awesome! Housing and facilities are really nice (very clean, space for stretching/yoga, pool - you name it is most likely there). Hostel breakfast and dinner nights are great. On free nights there are plenty of restaurants close by. Cherry on top: included possibility to prepare great lunch boxes for surfing! Doesn't get any better. The surf lessons/sessions by Aldo's surf school are great and really helped/prepared to make progress! I am a beginner-to-intermediate. The coaches evaluated the surf skill level in a short session and then really helped with their in-water teaching (guarantees to have a much higher percentage to catch a good wave properly). Wednesday photo analysis and theory class complemented the surf camp course. All this is done with lots of humour, laughter and positive energy! BJJ lesson's by Scotty Braggins: patient, detailed explaning and great humour gets you hooked! I am an absolute beginner in BJJ with GI (tiny experience in No-Gi grappling). The week's curriculum was nicely built around one type of guard. Techniques were broken down and explained by Scottie (Roger Gracie Algarve) which was especially helpful for my beginner level. The atmosphere was great! Definitely got me hooked for the future!

Experiência fantástica: Stayed here for a week in November - it was amazing from start to finish. The coaches are really excellent and we spent most of the time in the van laughing. Sarah and Aldo and everyone working there makes it feel like a home away from home, everyone sharing meals and chilling out together after a long day of surfing. The food is incredible too - bbq, burgers, curry, fish and plenty of restaurants within 5 min walk. Can't recommend it enough!

Experiência fantástica: WOW! What an amazing experience from top to bottom! Starting with the people: Sarah and Aldo are incredible hosts, guides and cheerleaders. And they attract like-minded guests. I’ve made friends for life and really enjoyed everyone. The lodge is so comfortable and cozy; you can join in the fun or find a quiet space for yourself. The group dinners are really fun and on the free nights, the restaurants are just a 5 minute walk. The surf instruction is incredible. They make it fun, understandable and safe. Experiência fantástica: For 1 week I took surf lessons with Aldo‘s surf school and the teachers were by far the best surf teachers I’ve had. Super precise feedback, made sure you felt safe in the water and genuinely interested in helping you advance. For years I had struggled with my pop-up and through the lessons with them I finally had a breakthrough. Could not be happier! Thank you & I will come back for sure ‍♀️

From the surfing to meeting everyone and then the food. everyone around the lodge as well as the instructors were super friendly and fun to be around. The restaurants by the lodge are really good too. I couldn't recommend this lodge enough

Loin d'être un simple surf hostel, Aldo, Sarah et les volontaires qui y travaillent ont fait de l'Arrifana Surf Lodge un petit cocon où il fait bon vivre, où la bienveillance et les éclats de rire font écho aux effusions de joie provoquées par le surf, le yoga et la musique qui règnent en ces lieux. Je devais rester une nuit ... j'y suis resté 10 jours et reviens sans cesse pour des durées chaque fois étendues. Arrifana Surf Lodge est un foyer à la croisée des chemins de chacun.e, où le temps s'arrête l'espace d'un échange sincère, chaleureux. Où les souvenirs qui nous transportent vers d'autres horizons remplacent le tracas de nos quotidiens. Tout le monde revient un jour à l'Arrifana Surf Lodge, alors à tout le monde, je dis: À bientôt :) Probably one of my favorite places on Earth! Far from just being a simple surf hostel, Aldo, Sarah and the volunteers have made the Arrifana Surf Lodge into a cozy haven where life is good, filled with warmth and laughter echoing the joys of surfing, yoga, and music that dominate the place. I was supposed to stay one night... I ended up staying 10 days and keep coming back for increasingly longer stays. Arrifana Surf Lodge is a home at the crossroads of everyone's journey, where time stands still for a heartfelt, warm exchange. Where memories that transport us to other horizons replace our daily worries. Everyone returns to the Arrifana Surf Lodge someday, so to everyone, I say: See you soon :)

Experiência fantástica: Arrifana Surf Lodge ist wie ein zweites Zuhause geworden und auch beim dritten Besuch habe ich mich sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Inhaber Sarah und Aldo sind freundlich, hilfsbereit und humorvoll. Auch spiegelt sich das in der Atmosphäre im Haus und auch beim Surfunterricht wieder. Man lernt in einer tollen Umgebung nicht nur surfen sondern euch neue Menschen kennen und kann den Urlaub genießen. Die Surflehrer Ibon, Gregor und Aldo erklären die Grundlagen des Surfens, das Verhalten im Meer und den Surfspot anschaulich und genau. Sie sind keine Surflehrer die nur auf den eigenen Spaß aus sind, sondern geben Unterricht bei dem man sich ständig verbessert und viel dazu lernt. Selbst wenn man selber mal einen frustrierenden Tag hat, bauen sie dich mit Humor und guten Ratschlägen auf und motivieren dich nicht aufzugeben... Auch das Angebot mit Yoga und Massage durch Lauren, ist super und passt sich den Bedürfnissen der Teilnehmer an und ist, besonders nach einem langen Tag am Strand, ein toller Ausgleich zum surfen. Wer tollen Surfunterricht, eine familiäre Umgebung und entspannte Ferien haben möchte, ist hier sehr gut aufgehoben. Ich komm auf jeden Fall wieder :-)

Experiência fantástica: Wir waren 3 Tage in der Surfschule bei Aldo, Sarah und ihren Kollegen und können sie nur wärmstens empfehlen. Tolle Leute, man fühlt sich sofort wohl. Beim Surfen wollen Sie einem wirklich weiterbringen, völlig unabhängig vom Niveau und der Geschwindigkeit der eigenen Fortschritte. Und bei allem auch völlig unkompliziert. Unbedingt eine Reise wert:)

Experiência fantástica: Mir wurde gesagt, es fühlt sich wie eine grosse Familie an, Zeit in der Lodge zu verbringen. Tatsächlich, so war es auch! Ich hatte das Gefühl, einen Monat dort gewesen zu sein, nicht nur eine Woche. Wohlfühloase und Seelenbalsam. Das Essen war ausgezeichnet und man wurde super bemüttert :) Ich war schon an manchen Orten surfen, hatte jedoch noch nie so gute Surflehrer. Jeder unterichtet anders, da kann man nur profitieren! Natürlich war ich nicht das letzte Mal da... Ohne Zweifel weiter zu empfehlen.

Experiência fantástica: Es war mir eine Freude, spontan eine Woche mit der Surfschule von Aldo zu verbringen! Die Gruppengrössen sind angenehm. Ich kann die Surfschule weiterempfehlen, egal ob man ein kompletter Anfänger oder bereits erfahren ist!!

Experiência fantástica: Ik verbleef niet in de lodge. Ik kon aansluiten bij een kleine groep van 4 personen als beginner. Mijn tekstberichten werden vlot beantwoord zodat ik wist waar en wanneer ik ze zou ontmoeten. Enthousiaste instructeurs en veel geleerd. Ik kom zeker terug voor meer lessen!

Experiência fantástica: Es war einfach nur super. Ich habe mich richtig wohl gefühlt und gut aufgehoben gefühlt. Die Trainer waren sehr nett und hilfsbereit und haben einen immer neue Tipps gegeben. Ich habe nur Unterricht gehabt, aber der war top!! Sehr zu empfehlen. Danke für die tolle Zeit ‍♀️

Experiência fantástica: Wir, meine 2 Jungs 17+18 eine Freundin und ich hatten einen TOLLEN URLAUB und kommen gerne wieder. Meine Freundin schreibt dazu: Dear Sarah, thank you! I am happy that I booked with Alex and the boys and had a great week - although I did not book the surf package ;-) ! My programme was just perfect - I am so proud that I tried the surfing (thanks to Alex and Aldo :-) ) - although I now know that surfing is not the right activity for me. And I also loved our trip to Lagos and my hiking tour. Thank you for your warm, friendly and very uncomplicated welcome and the good food!

Experiência negativa: Ich würde es auf keinen Fall empfehlen, diese Surfschule zu buchen. Die Lehrer der Surfschule verhalten sich sehr respektlos gegenüber anderen Surfern im Wasser. Sie halten sich nicht an die Surfetiquette, lehren diese auch nicht und gefährden oft ihre eigenen Schüler und andere Surfer, indem sie die Schüler absolut unaufmerksam in bereits gesurfte Wellen schubsen. Noch dazu verbreiten sie in der gesamten Crowd absolute bad vibes. Speziell der Surfinstructor mit der No. 4 sollte sein Verhalten im Wasser nochmal stark überdenken. An die Schüler: Es gibt viele andere tolle Surfschulen in denen ein gutes Miteinander und ein positiver vibe herrschen während man die tolle Sportart erlernt :) (Und nein, es besteht weder eine Verwechslung, noch war dies ein Einzelfall.)

Experiência negativa: Das Verhalten der Surflehrer ist einfach nur unverschämt! Ich war selber kein Schüler der Surfschule und kann daher nicht sagen ob man hier Surfen lernt, aber Etikette bekommt man definitiv nicht beigebracht! Der Surflehrer mit der Nummer 4 hat wiederholt seinen Schüler in Wellen geschubst, die schon gesurft wurden und dadurch sowohl den Schüler als auch den anderen Surfer gefährdet. Außerdem saß er mehrfach im Weg, hat die Welle nicht frei gemacht und damit - selbst wenn er seinen Schüler nicht in Wellen ohne Priorität geschubst hat - den Surf anderer Leute verhindert. Wenn er oder sein Schüler mal eine Welle abgeben mussten, wurde der Lehrer direkt unhöflich und meinte andere über die Regeln belehren zu müssen, die er selber nicht beachtet. Das Verhalten ist nicht nur gefährlich sondern zerstört auch den Vibe im Lineup. Ich würde im und außerhalb des Wassers einen großen Bogen um diese Surfschule machen.

Experiência fantástica: Leaving the lodge felt like leaving family behind. The week was just perfect. By accident I found the advertisement of their first Surfing and Brasilian Jiu Jitsu - Camp and just applied, even though I am a beginner in both. But that was no problem at all. The surf-trainers - especially Aldo himself - teach you with so much passion and enthusiasm that it is a pure joy and the Jiu Jitsu - trainer Scotty is one of the best and nicest I have ever met - although the drill in the last class was brutal. Aldo and Sarah do take great care about their guests and are really nice and warmhearted people. At no point I have not felt at home at the lodge. Last but not least the food at the lodge was most delicious and the restaurants in the vicinity really good. I will come back for sure. Thanks for the great time and hope to see you soon.

Experiência fantástica: A couple months too late but here I go. My boyfriend and I stayed in the camp for about 5 days in April and it instantly became a home to us. Everyone was extremely welcoming and warm. Sara and Aldo have created a beautiful space to meet long time friends and precious humans. Food was incredible and made with love. (Big up for Harriet, Hilde and Sara's roast & date cake) And the surf was beyond. Greg, Ibón and Lorenzo are top teachers. They are dedicated and passionate to make your experience unique; we felt so pampered and can undoubtedly say they got our trust very quickly. Sara and Aldo were on holiday most of our stay but got to meet us for dinner at the Thai Restaurant right next door with their beautiful family. After dinner Aldo looked at our surf pictures (shout out to Jon Barra) and gave us some tips - then explained us a bit about the history of surf. This said, I am super thankful that not only the surfing experience was the best I could have ever imagined, but their welcoming and genuine hearts made our trip truly unforgettable. We miss you all already and hopefully until next year.

Experiência fantástica: The only adjective I can use is PERFECT! Perfect is the vibe because you have the sensation to stay in a family with lots of friend. Sarah and his husband are very welcoming. Perfect is the surf school the surf instructor are prepared for all levels and you can really improve your technic. Perfect is the breakfast and the food home made by Sara and on Friday the barbecue is epic.

Experiência fantástica: Wow!!! I’ still high on love and warm feelings! Staying at arrifana surf lodge and with Sarah, Aldo and their family was amazing! You get surfing lessons two times a day by incredible good, passionate and careful teachers, that know your limits and abilities and try to push you to improve steadily (Ibón, Greg, Lorenzo). Therefor Aldo even takes his time to analyse the foootage together and tell you what you’re really good at and what to work on. You get very delicious food and yet sarah and aldo know how to include the invironment. One day Sarah (very good Chef btw) makes barbecue, the other day a friend of them makes curry. On two occasions you go outside to nice restaurants nearby- you don’t have to worry about anything everything is included. But the very best thing of it all, Sarah and Aldo made my trip to an unforgettable and unique happing, because of their spirit and their warm welcoming hearts, which they still have after 15 years of running this. They bring good people together and I’m pleased, I met such interesting and beautiful characters I made friends with in my short stay! I will definitely come back!

Experiência fantástica: This was my second time staying at the Lodge, and our expectations were completely blown away (again!). Sarah and Aldo are truly the kindest, most helpful and accommodating hosts, and are super fun people to be around! Aldo is a lovely, laid back guy and his knowledge of the local surf area is second to none. He really took the time to understand the kind of waves we'd like to surf, and make recommendations each day. There were also guys going out on lessons and every day they were raving about their experiences, so it's truely a place that all levels of ability can enjoy. Sarah is an absolutely delight, such a warm host who really goes above and beyond to make you feel at home, and is an incredible chef. So the food, THE FOOD!! My goodness, our minds were blown about what was included. Everyday a fresh and huge range of breakfast and lunch items were provided with homecooked pancakes, eggs, and overnight oats all making a appearance ( thanks Leah and Harriet!). We had two stunning meals out at excellent local resturants, but the absolute highlight was the BBQ! We are still talking about the fresh fish and steak - without a doubt one of the best I've ever had. The Logde itself is wonderful and homely and has everything you need ( we had access to a bath and it was a real treat - also there was a candle, hairdryer, just really thoughtful bits and pieces). There's a lovely garden to soak up the sun in the morning, and loads of room to wash and hang wetsuits and store away boards. Thank you Arrifana Surf Logde - we will be back very soon!!

Experiência fantástica: Do yourself a massive favour and book a surf trip to Arrifana Surf Lodge. Beautiful accommodation, delicious food, a chance to meet wonderful people in a lovely part of Portugal, excellent instruction from 3 highly enthusiastic encouraging and incredible competent teachers Aldo, Ibon & Gregor. I stayed only for 5 nights and was so sad to leave, I will definitely go back. The whole experience is amazing value and dealing with Sara could not be any easier. Don't hesitate book it and enrich your life.

Experiência fantástica: Mir wurde gesagt, es fühlt sich wie eine grosse Familie an, Zeit in der Lodge zu verbringen. Tatsächlich, so war es auch! Ich hatte das Gefühl, einen Monat dort gewesen zu sein, nicht nur eine Woche. Wohlfühloase und Seelenbalsam. Das Essen war ausgezeichnet und man wurde super bemüttert :) Ich war schon an manchen Orten surfen, hatte jedoch noch nie so gute Surflehrer. Jeder unterichtet anders, da kann man nur profitieren! Natürlich war ich nicht das letzte Mal da... Ohne Zweifel weiter zu empfehlen.

The food was great , the lodge is great , the fact you get to eat with the group out in some local restaurants is great. It was just love and fun. Hot showers , comfortable beds , fun people , and the 3 surf teachers , Aldo , Gregor and Ibon were amazing . Very friendly and communicatif. I just took one half day course there , but after seeing the mood of the classes , I stayed one full week. And it was beautiful ❤️ Alex

Experiência fantástica: My wife, myself and our two 12 & 11 year old boys just finished a stay at Arrifana Surf Lodge, wow what an amazing experience. Being from the states we didn't know what to expect but the accommodations and the overall experience couldn't have been better. The trip, accommodations, food and the surfing was a 10 out of 10. My boys had no surfing experience and it had been over 20 years since I last surfed. The instructors were amazing. They had us all catching waves by the end of the first session and and we only got better with every surf session after. Truly great people and amazing travel and surfing experience for my family. I can't give higher praises to the owners Aldo & Sarah Sprong, they're the best.

Made many good memories here and best off all I quickly learned to surf! During my stay I got to a level that took my friends a few years with other surf schools. Now that's quality!

Was great surfing with Cal, practising yoga with Lauren, eating amazing food (bluefin tuna straight off the boat) and hanging out with the crew. Waves delivered and we were able to shake off the cobwebs. Good choice of equipment too, the high performance soft tops go nicely.

Experiência fantástica: I spent a week in Arrifana Surf Lodge with 6 friends and we were -without exception - amazed! We were a group of beginners and intermediates and all of us felt very well taken care of. The surf lessons were twice a day and our teachers made sure we got to catch some waves and had fun at the same time. I have been to quite a few surf camps and I never had the freedom before to surf a little longer than the scheduled session and I don't think I'll ever meet an instructor who was in a better mood than Aldo - all day, every day!:) On top of that, the food was extremely delicious and more than plenty. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner is included and has always fresh and local ingredients, there was really nothing more we could have wished for. The Lodge itself is also super cosy and very clean. Thanks to everyone working there for the awesome holiday! :).

Experiência negativa: Rude and aggressive instructor with the rest of the surfers in Arrifana. Instructor maleducado y agresivo con el resto de surfistas. Un sitio estupendo con un ambiente genial entre surfers independientemente de los niveles. Lo sorprendente es que sea un instructor el que pase surfeando por encima de principiantes y les hable de manera agresiva con y sin uniforme, dentro y fuera del agua. Eso nos ha pasado a mi amiga y a mí esta mañana en Arrifana mientras practicábamos de manera independiente. No puedo recomendar una escuela de surf de la zona porque no las conozco, pero sí diré que evite Aldo School después de esta experiencia. Me daría vergüenza que me asistiera alguien así. Bad vibes...

Experiência fantástica: Amazing experience! Aldo and Sarah provide a fantastic service. All their instructors are professional and friendly. They focus on safety which is so important and make it fun and not intimidating. I’ve been coming back for lessons over the last 1 1/2 years and they are always so welcoming and my confidence in the water grows every time. I highly recommend them, a fantastic experience all round.

Experiência fantástica: This review will only be for the surf lessons. We were two guys with different levels and got a semi-private lesson from one of the instructors. Prices are comparable to the average of the area (Aljezur and the south in general) and they were flexible enough to allow us to rent the gear up to the afternoon. The lesson was quite dynamic and the instructor adapted to our skill level on the go, helping us along with the basics and showing us a bit of advanced stuff. Overall a good experience with no major flaws worth lowering the score.
