Experiência positiva: Erholung pur in familiärem Retreat, in dem man sich sehr wohlfühlt. Zu Beginn wird man in die Whatsapp Gruppe aufgenommen, in welcher wichtige bzw. aktuelle Infos hinterlegt werden. Die Yogastunden bei Jess waren der Hammer, man konnte dabei richtig gut relaxen. Die kooperierende Surfschule ist sehr gut, leider parkt man am anderen Ende des Strandes, obwohl direkt ein Parkplatz bei der Surfschule vorhanden ist. Ein paar Kleinigkeiten haben uns gestört, wie z.B. die dürftige Kommunikation über essentielle Dinge und die lange Zeit zwischen den Mahlzeiten (13 und 20 Uhr). Hier wurde unser Feedback aber explizit angefordert und angenommen. Die Bäder bzw. generell das Haus wurden nicht täglich gereinigt. Es lagen mehrere Tage Barthaare im unteren Bad auf dem Boden herum.. Beim Pizzaabend zum Sonnenuntergang hatte der Staff Fleisch auf der Pizza. Uns hat verwundert, dass es dem Staff „erlaubt“ wird, den Gästen aber nicht angeboten wird. Zwar ist das Essen dort generell vegetarisch, der Vibe wurde damit aber ohnehin „gestört". Das Essen ist sehr gesund und lecker, es wird auf Allergien und Unverträglichkeiten Rücksicht genommen. Abends gab es meistens sogar 3 Gänge. Aus Gründen der Abfallvermeidung gab es Nachschlag nur sehr selten. Zu fast jeder Mahlzeit gab es außerdem leckere frisch gemixte Säfte. Es sollte auf der Website angegeben werden, dass der Dorm Room nicht abschließbar ist und als Durchgangszimmer genutzt wird. Die Lage des Retreats ist sehr ruhig, man kann perfekt abschalten. Es ist sehr gemütlich und modern eingerichtet. Im Herbst wird es abends allerdings sehr frisch, daher sollte man viel warme Sachen mitnehmen. Am Abreisetag durfte man zeitlich sehr flexibel auschecken. Wir hatten einen tollen Trip und würden das Retreat auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen!

The clean rooms and the food was fantastic! Also I enjoyed the yoga en healing sessions a lot. The area is very peaceful, and hiking towards the cliffs to see the sunrise is a must see! Looking for a community where you can be your authentic self, find like minded people and to fully reload in the nature of Aljezur? Surf & Yoga is the place to be. thank you for welcoming me. Experiência fantástica: I recently had the pleasure of attending a surf and yoga retreat, and it was truly an incredible experience. As an intermediate surfer, I've often been grouped with beginners at other schools, but not here. The surf lessons were next-level, and they paid close attention to ensuring I was challenged and progressing at my own pace, which made all the difference. The yoga classes were also great, with the option to join twice a day if you’re feeling motivated, providing a perfect balance of relaxation and focus. The food was also a highlight—light snacks in the morning, a delicious brunch, and filling dinners that hit the spot every time. The house itself was wonderfully peaceful, which was a huge bonus since I had to work a lot during my stay. The spacious living room and fast WiFi made it easy to stay productive without feeling disconnected from the retreat's relaxing atmosphere. Lastly, the people working there were incredibly welcoming and friendly, making the whole experience feel warm and personal. I would highly recommend this retreat to anyone looking for a perfect balance of surf, yoga, great food, and a tranquil atmosphere. It exceeded all my expectations!

Experiência fantástica: Such an incredible place! The house, the people, the food, the surf, the yoga—all of it was amazing. You can tell that everyone puts love into what they do. <3 I stayed in the female dorm and the room was very spacious with your own little area for hanging and organizing your things. Beds were very comfortable. It would be worth looking into renting a car if you come out this way.

Experiência fantástica: Beautiful surf camp with great rooms, communal and outdoor areas including a pool, yogashala and yoga/massage room. All the team and guests (in total around 12-15) live and eat together like a family, everybody is so nice and friendly. The food is amazing as well, very healthy and tasty, all vegetarian/vegan. They offer great activities (surfing in group and private, yoga, massage, sound healing, mantra chanting, ...). The area is perfect for walking, biking, horseriding and watching sunsets, but a bit away from beaches, bars and towns, so maybe renting a car is a good idea.

Experiência fantástica: I spent a week at this beautiful place and would have loved to stay longer. The house is cozy and very clean. The garden is beautiful and surrounded by nature. From here you can walk direct to the coast. The view is stunning. The sun sets are right in front of you. These are just a few reasons to visit this place. My personal highlight was the whole team. They looked after us from morning to night. The food was great, the yoga sessions gave me a lot of energy and relaxation. I am very grateful that I was able to spend so much time with them. And there were such nice and interesting characters among the guests too. It was the perfect mix of relaxation, surfing, laughing, interesting conversations and beautiful nature. I can only recommend it. For me it was such a wonderful experience.

The house is beautiful, very clean, super nice pool and garden. The food was great and i enjoyed the yoga classes a lot. Thanks a lot to all for this great and relaxing time! We ll miss it a lot and can recommend it for everyone!

Experiência fantástica: I stayed at the camp for the New Year's and never have I ever experienced this level of hospitality. It really felt like home. I have no idea how these people do it, but the community they attract is just amazing. I am still keeping in touch with some of the people from the camp. On top of that they have a top notch surf instructor, very dedicated yoga team and a real CHEF that comes to prepare home cooked bespoke meals. I have never eaten so much healthy food in my entire life. The rooms are basic, but the living room with the fireplace is the center of everything: singing, tarot cards, ukulele playing, dancing or just reading and taking it easy. I am quite picky, and honestly I am very surprised how much I have recommended this place to my friends in the past few months. XoXo

Experiência fantástica: Ich hatte eine wirklich sehr schöne Woche in diesem Surf & Yoga Retreat in Portugal. Vom Essen über die Organisation bis hin zur Unterkunft (Gemeinschaftsbereiche, mein Zimmer, toller Außenbereich), war alles sehr gut, sauber und gepflegt. Ich hatte ein Doppelzimmer gebucht und es gab eine Klimaanlage im Zimmer. Die Organisation des Programms (2x Yoga am Tag, 1x Surfunterricht pro Tag) lief stets reibungslos und ich empfand die Kommunikation als sehr angenehm. Das benötigte Equipment für fürs Surfen und Yoga wurde bereit gestellt. Es wurde vegetarisch für die Gäste gekocht. Neben einem leichten Frühstück gab es Mittags einen Lunch, den man sich selbst am Vortag aussuchen konnte und das Abendessen war ein Menü mit Vorspeise und Dessert - die Gäste wurden also sehr gut versorgt. Das Tagesprogramm konnte man ansonsten frei selbst bestimmen: am Pool liegen, wandern gehen, andere Ortschaften erkunden (Mietauto/Taxi zu empfehlen)… Ich war als Solo-Reisende dort und konnte tolle Leute in einer sehr schönen, entspannten Umgebung kennen lernen.

Experiência fantástica: I feel completely impressed about this wonderful place after 10 days vacation here The house is located in a very peaceful area, surrounded by ocean and forests. Beautiful viewpoints are on the walking distance. The rooms are very spacious and clean. The food was amazing: light breakfast, delicious brunch where you can choose from several options and wonderful dinner consisted in 3 plates - all very healthy, delicious and always fresh. All personnel is very attentive, open to any request and helpful I found it a very peaceful and energetically powerful place, that attract people with beautiful souls ❤️ I enjoyed so much staying here, all the yoga sessions, all the people I met and also the surroundings Carolina, Sudu, Alex, Mara and all, I’ll be missing you, and thank you for an amazing vacation:)

Experiência fantástica: I have had two wonderful weeks at Surf & Yoga. I'm so glad I found this place. The house and surroundings are beautiful. And the coastline is just breathtaking. There were so many interesting flowers in bloom. The rooms are clean and full of light. And the food was amazing, always fresh and never processed. But the real gem of the place was the authentic and friendly team that made my stay unique. Carolina and Sudu fill the place with such warmth and it is easy to feel at home. Carolina has a lot of knowledge about yoga and spirituality and I enjoyed talking to her, it was always an enrichment. Her yoga was very calming and I loved the sound healing sessions which were a great new experience for me. Sudu was very supportive and always cheers for you and making you laugh. I loved his brunch and he made us a delicious Sri Lankan curry. Alex, also a yoga teacher, was such a kind person and I enjoyed her calm and energising yoga with some breath work elements. I loved the energy of Corrado, the surf instructor, and had a great experience with him. I was able to improve my surfing skills, which is not always possible as an advanced surfer. He really had an eye for corrections and challenged me in a good way. Mara the cook made the stay complete, she was always in a good mood, her food was delicious and her dog Teddi was always ready for a cuddle. It was also possible to have a massage and Reiki treatment. And there is a riding stable nearby that offers rides along the coast. These things were also highlights of my stay. I'm so grateful for this amazing time and I've taken so much with me into my everyday life now. I will definitely come back!

Experiência fantástica: It was such a pleasure to stayed as such a lovely & calm place. The camp is amazing and Carolina & team created a home far away from home. It is so quite and peaceful. While hang out in the garden you listend the voice of the ocean. You always find a place to read or just relax. The pool, the yoga shala and the house is wonderful. To be there before season starts was the best decision. And the food is amazing

Experiência fantástica: Ich hatte eine wundervolle Woche bei Carolina & Sudu. Ich war zu Anfang der Saison da, daher waren außer mir nur noch 3 andere Gäste im Haus. Das Haus ist schön geräumig und es gibt verschiedene Orte, um zusammen zu kommen, aber auch, um für sich zu sein. Besonders der Garten mit Pool, Liegen, Hängematte und Liegestühlen hat mir gut gefallen. Die Unterkunft befindet sich in einem ruhigen Wohngebiet, welches direkt an ein Naturgebiet angrenzt. Man kann in kurzer Zeit vorne am Meer sein und man ist immer umgeben von Naturgeräuschen. Jeden Morgen und Abend gab es eine Yogastunde, die sehr gut getan hat und sich über die Tage langsam gesteigert hat. Ich bin richtig zur Ruhe gekommen. Frühstück, Brunch und Abendessen waren immer super lecker und zusammen am großen Tisch zu essen hat sich sehr familiär angefühlt. Für Mittags hätte ich mir noch die Option für einen Snsck gewünscht, da es manchmal erst etwas später Abendessen gab. Das nächste Mal würde ich mir Riegel und Obst o.ä. selbst mitbringe für Zwischendurch. Neben den täglichen Yogastunden gibt es die Möglichkeit zur Klangmeditation mit Klangschalen oder dem Gong. Beide Meditationen waren sehr berührend und haben viele Emotionen in mir ausgelöst. Danach wollte ich immer erstmal für mich sein und war froh über mein Einzelzimmer. Die Crystal Bowl Meditation war sehr positiv und hat mich näher zu mir selbst gebracht. Die Gong Meditation hatte für mich eine etwas düstere mächtige Stimmung, da mir der Raum zu klein für die lauten Töne vorkam. Dennoch möchte ich die Erfahrung nicht missen. Die Massage, bei der wir aus verschiedenen Techniken wählen konnten, tat auch richtig gut und war ein schöner Abschluss meines Aufenthalts. Carolina hatte immer ein offenes Ohr bei Fragen und hat sich auch nach den Yogastunden Zeit für einen persönlichen Austausch genommen. Ich habe es sehr genossen und mich total wohl gefühlt. Ein toller Abend war auch die gemeinsame Pizza & Movie Night. Gemeinsames Sonnenuntergang-Schauen war leider nicht möglich, da das Wetter zu schlecht war. Aber ganz bestimmt ein tolles Erlebnis an den Klippen vorne. Ich war im Einzelapartement untergebracht, wo ich es leider extrem feucht fand. Der Entfeuchter hat aber geholfen. Nachts war es echt kalt, da ich Ende März dort war. Eine mobile Heizung hat dann aber sehr geholfen. Es war mein erstes Yogaretreat und es war eine rundum tolle Erfahrung. Ich wünsche Carolina & Sudu und ihrem Küchenteam alles von Herzen Gute und freue mich, wenn man sich wieder sieht!

Experiência fantástica: Our 6 day stay at Surf & Yoga completely blew my mind! I had absolutely no expectations to this stay as we booked it on new years day and checked in the day after. We were welcome with a big hug by Theresa and her lovely team. In the following days we had the best time with long interesting talks, loads of laughs around the breakfast- and dinner table everyday - and of course amazing yoga and great surf!! I mainly booked the place for the surf as I’ve not done much yoga in my life but I got completely hooked and have now continued doing yoga in my home country. This place is not only nicely decorated and calm with the beautiful forrest and hiking sorroundings in the very backyard but it also really attracts good, fun and interesting people. The relaxed atmosphere makes it very easy to connect with the people there. At the same time it’s very easy to get a break, be alone and charge your batteries. And the food! It had me every day!! I loved every second of our stay and even tried to see if I could extend with another two more weeks. It didn’t happen because of work but I will for sure be back soon! Big hugs to all the amazing people we met and to the very cute team who run the place :)

The house is very nice, modern and cozy, the common areas provide space for relaxation and socializing. There is also a small co-working space that I used. The highlight of my time were the yoga lessons. Theresa, our yoga instructor, is an absolute gem. I enjoyed her classes and she guided us through, always tailoring her instruction to our individual needs. The food was another highlight of my stay. Every meal was fresh, healthy, and absolutely delicious. I highly recommend visting this place and staying here. :-)

Experiência fantástica: Yoga and Surf retreat Portugal was the best way to find peace, reconnect, and get out of the comfort zone. The people hosting and participating are all very kind - giving you the space and support needed. Everyday is different, with different yoga variations and surf sessions alternating depending on the conditions, so powerful in every way! For the foodies out there - the food is simple, healthy and delicious. I very much appreciated the attention to food waste and the fact that a chef would come cook dinner. Experiência positiva: My partner and I had a positive time at the Surf & Yoga retreat in Aljezur. The surf and yoga sessions, led by skilled instructors, were truly enjoyable. The accommodation offered a cozy setting, although an extra round of cleaning to manage the sand in the room would have been a nice touch. The pool served as a serene space for relaxation. However, the brunch, though flavorful, left us wanting more after our energizing morning activities. We also noticed occasional coffee shortages. It's worth mentioning that the food didn't quite match our expectations, particularly when compared to the highly regarded camp in Fuerteventura. While the brunch was undeniably delicious, it didn't provide the necessary sustenance following the invigorating yoga and exceptional surf experiences. Nonetheless, the camp boasted an exceptional atmosphere of camaraderie and offered a variety of enjoyable activities, including different types of yoga sessions and an incredible surf experience. A highlight was the delightful surprise of a birthday cake, which I truly appreciated. I recommend considering a car rental to fully explore the surrounding area. With a few small adjustments, this retreat could easily become an outstanding experience

Experiência fantástica: I had the most enjoyable and relaxing time here. Carolina was so friendly and helpful and made me feel so welcome. It really felt like staying in a lovely home where we all shared stories and memories of travelling over dinner each evening. The food was delicious and so healthy, my body and mind feel amazing. The house is beautifully arranged and everything is very clean. The yoga teachers, Joana and lara are excellent and doing the yoga outdoors on the deck made it feel even more special, you really feel at one with nature especially with the wind on your body. I can't recommend this place enough and am already thinking about when I can come back.

Experiência fantástica: Superbe expérience dans ce yoga et surf camp. Les cours avec Theresa sont un voyage et vous donne toute l’énergie nécessaire pour affronter les vagues. Pleins d’ateliers proposés comme les bains sonores qui changent et vous permettent de vous ressourcer. J’ai aussi beaucoup apprécié les plats vegan et végétarien. Experiência fantástica: Home away from home ♥️ Wunderschöne Natur, mildes Klima, liebevolle Menschen, magische Energie und eine Wohlfühlatmosphäre wie zu Hause - das macht diesen Ort aus. ✨ Ich habe mich relativ spontan entschlossen, nach Portugal zu fahren und habe für 5 Tage das Yoga Paket gebucht. Die Begrüßung durch Pia war sehr herzlich und mir wurde direkt alles wichtige gezeigt. Das Haus ist sehr liebevoll und gemütlich eingerichtet und sauber. Es gab 3 mal am Tag eine Mahlzeit, alles frisch, vegan und mit viel Obst und Gemüse zubereitet. Die Yoga Sessions bei Pia und Theresa waren wundervoll und jedes Mal eine Bereicherung. Zusätzlich gab es noch eine Massage, bei der ich ebenfalls super entspannen konnte. Besonders schön war die Vollmondzeremonie am Ende meines Aufenthaltes. Wenn man sich die Gegend vor Ort ansehen will, empfehle ich ein Auto. Ansonsten kann man zu Fuß sehr lange Spaziergänge an der Küste entlang machen. Die 5 Tage waren sehr erholsam und ich konnte sehr schnell zur Ruhe kommen, was nach meinem stressigen Alltag genau das Richtige war. Ich komme sicherlich wieder ♥️

Experiência fantástica: I can totally recommend staying at surf and yoga retreat Portugal. The accomodation is located close to sandy walking trails along the coast, near Arrifana. The beds are very comfortable and the limited number of guest makes it a perfect place to have some relaxing days and meet like minded people. A good mix of social exchange, freshly cooked meals by local chefs, action packed surf lessions with very patient instructors and vitalising yoga classes. I felt well looked after and was also given freedom to explore the beautiful surrounding landscapes in the afternoons.

There are places on earth where the density is more consistent and you have the feeling that the time has a different rhythm. This is one of this place, it is like a womb for me, a home that welcomes you and makes you feel warmer inside when the winter is starting. It's the place where I allowed myself to just be and share the beauty of life with all those amazing people around. In one week of retreat I transformed myself and rebirth with a new me. The Shala is magical and there is a path to visit the coastline behind the house. The moment I entered the house, I didn’t have to think of anything and could solely focus on relaxing, practicing yoga and learning to surf. Carolina has been able to build a pleasant community with a Portuguese touch. Everything is well thought and the staff is amazing: an amazing chef Mafalda (who made the best chocolate mouse I’ve ever had), the experienced surf teacher Jonathan, the yoga instructors Amanda and Joana, the brunch chef Lucas, the massagist Eva and the in-house staff Laura & Yoelle. The food and staff were amazing. Surf & Yoga Portugal were the best. They are great people in general but also very knowledgeable and great coaches. I went into the week a very inexperienced surfer and finished the week feeling like I had learned a lot and improved greatly. The whole experience is 10/10 and I can't say enough good things about it.”

Experiência positiva: Having been to their Sri Lanka camp which I loved, the price paid and the vision shared on their website and social media, I had much higher expectations from the new venture in Portugal, where I stayed for 10 nights. At the time of booking the website was over-promising things that have not yet been sorted out and therefore creating further disappointment upon arrival. Following feedback from few guests those changes have now been made. Halfway through my stay and few complaints, the food has improved massively, which made a huge difference for the rest of the stay. Mafalda is a great dinner chef and it seemed her budget has been increased so she could create a lot more inventive and wholesome options that were delicious, in comparison to very basic meals at the start. Surf instructor John was amazing, he pretty much made the experience for me and I felt I improved hugely through a relatively short period of time. However considering it's a surf camp - there is no appropriate area to clean and dry your wetsuits, so currently they're just draping the roof on the side of the house. Eva the massage therapist is also incredible - try her shiatsu massage for a total relaxation! Yoga from both Theresa and Joana was good and very enjoyable in the lovely peaceful surroundings, currently there is no appropriate weather cover in the shala - so if it's raining or windy - prepare to get wet and cold - hopefully it's something that will be resolved over the coming weeks. I would certainly recommend booking one of the double rooms (shared bathroom), which are downstairs from the main house giving you a bit more quiet and privacy. All other rooms are just off from the main living area and kitchen, so you will be right in the middle of it throughout the stay. It does also mean that if guests want to stay up longer there is no other area to not disturb other guests who may want to have an early night. Car is an absolute must - the villa is in a very beautiful area right next to a National Park, but hardly anything within walking distance - in particular if you want to grab some lunch you will need to get to one of the bigger towns which are 15-20min drive away. The place has great potential and could be a fantastic surf & yoga retreat if the feedback from previous guests is taken into account and various improvements made and maintained in the future. I've had a great time thanks to fellow guests with whom I shared my stay and surf lessons, but sadly based on my experience alone I would not be recommending this retreat to others.

Experiência negativa: I stayed at the retreat for a week while I have booked for 12 nights as I was seeking a calm, relaxing environment filled with physical and mindfulness activities (Surf + Yoga). I had to shorten my stay as the created expectations, which were high due to the marketing and the expensive pricing, were not satisfied. The staff is very kind and was flexible enough to refund me for the days which I didn't stay there, however there is a lot of improvement potential for the retreat team to execute on. The location of the house is in a quiet area and the natural surroundings are enjoyable. The space is not yet fully completed, meaning that there is still some construction work going on to finish the house. The pricing of the room I stayed in is too expensive and is not suitable for the actual offering on-site. I stayed in the highest room category and without the "Opening discount" I would have not stayed at the retreat. The house is rather small for the amount of people staying at the retreat and it's hard to get some privacy. As the majority of rooms are all close together and also close to the communal area you hear everything what's going on in the house and when breakfast / dinner is prepared in the kitchen, which can make it a challenge to sleep in in the mornings. The food and beverage offering needs to improve in order to catch up to the marketing on the website / Instagram and the (base) pricing. I highly recommend renting a car before coming to the retreat as the house is pretty far away from the next supermarket / bar / restaurant. The staff members were open to listen to feedback and I am sure that some of the action items will be considered to be worked on in future, but one can feel the lack of hospitality experience. I met amazing people while I stayed there and those new friendships will stay with me despite the above described experience. Conclusion: I felt ripped off by what I got for the price I paid. If you like a super expensive (!) surf hostel where you even pay additional 35€/night if you stay in a room by yourself, then you might get satisfied here. Beautiful location and amazing people. However as I was looking for a relaxing wellness break and unfortunately the reality of the experience didn’t meet my expectations. Update June 13: After providing feedback, the content on the website got updated and all those "unique selling points" which were not there in reality got removed, while the pricing stayed extremely high for the region and the service offering

Experiência fantástica: I am absolutely in love with this place, it’s still a new space and is taking its first steps, but the house is beautiful and super cozy, surrounded by nature, where you wake up with the sound of birds. Perfect to relax, to connect with nature and with ourselves, the food is delicious, the yoga space is unbelievable and I really loved the classes. Carolina and Theresa really make us feel at home and in community, they are super helpful and super friendly just like all the staff. I also loved the surf lessons, I felt an incredible progression and super safe in the sea with the instructors. I am already thinking about coming back soon, highly recommend staying at Surf and Yoga Retreats in Portugal, you will feel at home.

Experiência positiva: I don’t usually write reviews but I can’t just leave all those 5 stars reviews from people that never stayed at the retreat uncommented. So here we go. I booked this retreat from the great experience I had in their Fuerteventura camp. I stayed 7 nights on the yoga only package. Unfortunately, this location does not live up to the other locations. First of all, it is heavily overpriced and does not deliver the same kind of experience. Furniture is from Ikea, there is a Nespresso machine, not very sustainable. The “food from the garden project” are two pots, one with strawberries and one with zucchini. At check-in, I was completely ignored and felt immediately as if I was disturbing them. I had nothing to put my clothes which were lying on a radiator and on the floor for the whole stay. Breakfast and dinner felt very uncreative and simple. Things got better when negative feedback from two other guests was sent in, but I would still, in the current state, with the current staff, not recommend to stay at this retreat. I hope they take all the criticism that they got from us and improve so that the brand can have the same standards everywhere because the house has a lot of potential :)
